The MELD – Bridging the Gap

THE MELD
Think the word ‘google’ and apply it to ‘meld’. It’s a new word that has no meaning, created in the minds of people to search for Natural Wellness Therapists and topics on social media. The tag line ‘Bridging the Gap’ indicates how The MELD is providing a social media presence enabling the seeker to find the alternative therapies.
What is it?
The MELD is a collection of Facebook groups. The first is called ‘The MELD Online’ – for therapists who offer services online. Each of the other groups has their local community name, eg ‘The MELD Mandurah’. Presently limited to Australia, it will expand off shore when it has become better known here in Oz.
The purpose of the groups is for local therapists and Natural Wellness Entrepreneurs to share your social media posts into the groups closest to you (or online), for more people to find your posts. I made reference to the groups in my book – Why Would You!? and I regularly do interviews and pod casts to promote The MELD.
Why?
A couple of reasons, the main one being: the social media algorithms do not enthusiastically share natural wellness posts. It doesn’t help that the entrepreneurs in the industry could do with some tutorials on how to use social media (a key offering inside the ACC Team).
Imagine being a member of the Yoga Community Groups, and trying to find when the next events are happening and who is holding them. Where do you start to find them?
When a group or an individual shares their event post to their local MELD group, the seeker only needs to search through The MELD events to find the one that suits them.
You could search the hashtags, or you could ask around, however, when The MELD become more widely know, the search will be simple.
And the best part: it’s free!
The Back Story
When I was unwell, I went looking for local natural therapists, and couldn’t find them. It didn’t help that I didn’t know what I was looking for. I just knew I needed help and I didn’t want to follow the mainstream health system. I had watched my nearest and dearest follow the advice of their doctors, and they all died.
When I finally started to recover, I decided I needed to apply my professional skills and do something to remedy the situation. Being concerned that others may be seeking alternative therapies, I wanted to make it easier for them to be found. So I formed a group and invited therapists to attend and share their skills, to get to know each other and promote the industry.
The first group was started in Townsville, Queensland; then Bundaberg and Nambour (I recently changed the group name to Sunshine Coast). Then the virus hit and lockdowns prevented gatherings. Brian and I applied for a longer term caretaker position in WA and found ourselves locked down near Perth. I wrote my book and had a rethink about The MELD.
The lockdowns had taught people to spend more time online so I changed the groups away from gatherings to just sharing posts online. A few more groups were created and grew as a result of my enthusiasm.
What’s in it for You?
As a member of the ACC Team, you will be tutored in how to bring people into your local community MELD group and help them promote what they do. From those ready to grow, you will have first dibs at inviting them into the ACC Team or becoming a customer.
There are many things you can do with The MELD to help you grow your enterprise and through the ACC Team Tutorials, you will be given the option to become a group moderator. In this role, you are independently volunteering your time to grow the Natural Wellness Industry in your community, while helping the members grow their enterprises.
The Vision for the Future
I believe that we are on the cusp of a new era, where more people are losing faith in the mainstream health system and they are more open to learning about alternatives than ever before. ACC Team Members are encouraged to take advantage of this shift and help them discover the variety of therapies available and who offers each of the therapies and services. This includes Affiliate Marketing Opportunities.
